White Water Rafting is an exciting, exhilarating and fun way to explore the fabled River Ganges. Our two day adventure commences on white sandy beaches that hug the shore line North of Rishikesh. At this location the mighty Ganges is a fresh, clean and vibrant river flowing freely from the southern fringes of the Himalaya before it heads for India’s vast plains and eventually the Indian Ocean. The campsite is complete with static tents, sprung beds! Where the rafting staff make us feel at home and focus our minds on the delights of the trip to follow but also allowing us to play a few games of volleyball or just relax and reflect on the location, the symbolism of this huge green and blue giant and get to know our team mates.
Raft the Ganges is a two day trip for all and can be combined with our Trekking expedition across the Kuari Pass. Taken as a precursor to the trek it can be used to develop team skills or en-route home to relax before the remainder of the trip. No matter where you place this adventure in your expedition its benefits should not be underestimated.
The sacred river Ganga (Ganges) flows through Rishikesh a holy city for the Hindu faith situated in the foothills of the Himalaya. In fact, it is here that the river leaves the Shivalik Mountains and flows out into the plains of northern India. Having numerous temples, the city is a centre for pilgrims, tourists and those wishing to learn Yoga. Rishikesh is our opportunity to relax, take a foot from the pedal in this mystic and fascinating city. Take time to wander through its numerous back streets lined by stall holders from all over the region pedaling their goods and excellent quality handicrafts. Ease those poor aching muscles with a massage, or just kick back and watch the world go by.
