Trekking in Morocco
Toubkal Circuit Expedition, Morocco
The Highest Point in North Africa!
Experience two of Morocco’s extremes – the frenetic hustle and bustle of the Djemaa el Fnaa Market Square, a UNESCO Masterpiece of World Heritage and the serentity of the rugged Atlas Mountains with their remote Berber villages and star filled night skies.
Your first night will be spent in Marrakech and you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the spectacle that is Djemmaa el Fna. The following morning the team will transfer to Imlil on the edge of the Toubkal National Park and prepare for the trek. The next day you’ll set off on a six day circular route through a stunning mixture of lush valleys, ancient Berber villages and rugged mountain trails, reaching the summit of Mt. Toubkal, the highest point in North Africa at 4167m, on the morning of the sixth day. The last full day will be spent back in Marrakech where you can explore the souqs, the medina and hunt for souvenirs.
As never before, it’s time to break from normal life and take on an adventure of a lifetime. Look forward with excited anticipation to travelling with us to a fascinating new destination, joining a team of like-minded people, and pitting yourself against the elements. Our treks, although designed to be challenging, are achievable. You’ll experience invigorating exercise, good food, excellent company, breath-taking scenery, and fresh air.
The Atlas Mountains simply must be seen to be believed. Spanning three north African countries, they separate the Mediterranean and the Sahara Desert. Our trek will take you to the very summit of their highest peak Mt Toubcal, having trekked through stunning countryside and traditional Berber villages.
Go on, break free – this adventure is for you. Join us!
Embrace the challenge and remember the unique experience!
This trek is demanding but the effort is well worth the reward. The trails are rugged with plenty of steep climbs, both up and down. You must be physically fit, confident that you can walk for 4-8 hours per day for the duration of the trek and be prepared for the effects of altitude as you’ll spend nearly all of the trek above 2000m. We provide advice for training to get yourself expedition fit.
You’ll camp each night of the trek and meals will be cooked for you. Be prepared for the facilities to be basic with no opportunity for charging devices.
