Not quite what I'd expected

The weather in this region had been settled for the past couple of weeks. Bar the residual snow left over from the last big drop a month previously, there would be easy walking, affording me the chance to re-acquaint myself with the mountains. Ha! Not so.
Having arrived at the mountain refuge above the Col de Legal the wind picked up, and then the snow came! By the time I came to leave the next day, fully six inches had been deposited. Thankfully the wind had abated, but due to the deep snow walking was hard work.
However, the days spent in the hills were profitable and ideas for a snow shoeing trip were born. The snow enabled me to camp where I wished, without the worry of suitable drinking water.
I will be adding some detail to the Massif Central trekking option on my return and then we will be ready to roll. We have a multitude of routes, of varying length and difficulty to quench your thirst!
We look forward to this year's first guests.
