France - Central Massif

Central Massif trek (7 days)

We wish to welcome you to this stunningly beautiful area of France set around the idyllic country hamlet of Fontagnes where the team will be based for the duration of the trip.

This is our introductory trek and will afford us the means to judge your skills, fitness and enthusiasm for trekking.  Amongst the beautiful mountains and in a relaxed and informal manner we will pass our skills onto you, returning each night to the glorious hospitality of our farmhouse.

The Farmhouse, set on three floors provides you with luxury accommodation, good food and wine and the means to relax and discuss options and plans for the treks to come.  Accommodation is based upon two guests sharing large well appointed rooms with stunning views (singe person rooms are available at a surcharge rate).  Breakfast, lunch and evening meals are included.

The horseshoe route will commence from the farmhouse and lead to the southern most tip of the horseshoe where the team will climb gradually to attain the ridge that surrounds this area of the Cantal.  The ridge affords spectacular views in all directions and when attained provides some of the best walking to be had in France.

At the conclusion of each day the team will descend to a predetermined pick up point and be driven back to the farmhouse for tea/coffee cakes and the chance to relax before the evening meal.

The following morning the team will return to the point attained the previous day and commence the next beautiful section of the circuit.

Should the group wish to camp on the mountain ridge and not make use of the farmhouse then arrangements can be made accordingly.
