Alaska is the 49th state and still ahs a real “Pioneer” feel to it. The people are friendly and easy going and life is lived at a gentle pace. The towns and cities are busy but you don’t have to travel far till you are in the back country and some real wilderness. The place is huge and it takes a time to adjust to the sheer scale of things.
